The late Brian Southam was a pioneer in Jane Austen studies and in literary criticism more generally. He was a Society committee member from 1969 to 1989, and Chairman from 1990 to 2004. He died in 2010. His family has set up a website to bring together an overview of his life and a comprehensive record of his publications, including essays, lectures and other contributions, as well as some broader material from across his career in literary criticism. The website can be accessed here: https://www.brian-southam.com/.
