12 noon A talk by Jessica Bull, author of “Miss Austen Investigates” What is it about Jane Austen which prompts so many imaginative spin offs and creativity? Jessica discusses aspects of the genre and the continued interest in this form and what caused her to write her novel.

Lunch by own arrangement

230 pm The Patricia Clarke Memorial Lecture – Professor Jane Stabler, St Andrew’s University on “Jane Austen and British Intelligence”

Followed by tea, coffee and cakes
