In December 1800, when Jane Austen was told that the Austens were leaving Steventon and moving to Bath, she fainted. But did she? This talk reassesses the evidence and comes to a perhaps surprising conclusion.
Azar Hussain is an independent researcher based in London. His research focuses on the eighteenth century and specifically Jane Austen. His work has appeared in Notes & Queries, Persuasions, Persuasions On-Line, and the Jane Austen Society Annual Report.
