We will send out a reminder nearer the time but we are not taking any of the bookings.
25th September 2pm-5pm – “Tea and Money” – Coffee House Conversations
“No coffee, I thank you, for me—never take coffee—A little tea if you please” Emma
The Georgians invented the Coffee House a place to go and discuss the important issues of the day, so join us for tea (or Coffee!) and cake and learn about the ceremony of taking tea with the Hampshire Jane Austen Society and have a conversation about the banking crisis that rocked the Austen family, and hear the stories of the poor debtors who found themselves in God’s House Prison when Jane lived in Southampton.
Tickets £8 including tea & cake
